To understand the role of cemetery and cities in the development of Egypt’s cultural identity during the late predynastic period it is important to know what is Predynastic period. This is the period before the history was recorded from the Palaeolithic Age to the Neolithic Age up to the development of the First Dynasty and dates between c. 6000-3150 BCE. One major problem of this period is that there is no written record but there are archaeological excavations that tell us about the development of Egyptian culture.
